<title>Canine Selection: A Guideline for Picking Your Perfect Companion</title>
        <link>http://www.pugnaround.net/canine-selection-a-guideline-a998.html</link>
<description>After working at a veterinarian’s office for a number of years (and ultimately marrying a vet technician) as well as volunteering with Friends For Life, a local no-kill shelter in Houston, TX, I’ve come across scores of pet owners and potential pet adopters that have based their pet companionship decisions on either irrelevant or frivolous factors. Finding a dog that meets a particular lifestyle is not only more of an advantage for the owner, but essential to the pet’s quality of life. Placing dogs that have wound up in the wrong owner’s hands can be challenging and extremely traumatic for the animal. So, in an effort to expose the public to sound guidelines when selecting a canine companion, and using sources such as the veterinarians I’ve worked for as well as pet placement organization managers, I’ve written an article detailing how one should consider their current lifestyle in relation to the type of dog they would want to bring into their home as well as the considerations they should make in preparation for integrating their future pet’s needs into their daily life.</description>
